My commute to work is about 50 minutes each way… sometimes longer. When I started this job, I knew that I needed to start listening to more podcasts/audiobooks to fill the drive-time –– and that’s just what I did.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good jam. But, in my mind, if I’m going to spend 2 hours in the car everyday, I might as well get something out of it! Of course there are some days when I’m just in the mood for music, or even days when I listen to nothing at all –– and that’s okay! Some days I need to just sit in silence… or sing at the top of my lungs with all of the windows down… 🙂
Today, I’m going to share a list of my favorite podcasts that I’m currently listening to, in no particular order:

1. My Favorite Murder
Myy Favoriiite Muuuuuurderrrrr (insert the intro music). This is a true crime comedy podcast by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark and IT. IS. EVERYTHING. Brian and I discovered this podcast last summer and it has been my favorite since. They come out with two episodes weekly on Thursdays and Mondays –– Thursday’s they each select one story to discuss, and Monday’s (minisodes) they read listener mail which contain true crime stories from fans. Thursday episodes are about 1.5 hr, and Monday’s minisodes are anywhere from 25 mins to 40 minutes. I highly recommend this podcast to fellow murderinos, as they call us. Stay sexy & don’t get murdered 😉

2. Stuff You Should Know
Stuff You Should Know is an educational podcast by Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant. The hosts work really well together and have great banter. I love this podcast because you learn a lot about a wide variety of topics. The hosts choose a topic, they each do their own thorough research on it and they sit and talk about what they’ve learned. It’s really interesting and so productive! There are so many things that I’ve learned that I would definitely not have, if it weren’t for this podcast. Episodes are released every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and are usually around 45 minutes long.

3. RISE Together
RISE Together is a motivational (that’s what I’m calling it) podcast by Rachel and Dave Hollis. I first discovered Rachel Hollis when I listened to her book Girl, Wash Your Face on Audible –– I didn’t know what this book was about at all, but I’m really glad I picked it up. I found Rachel Hollis at the perfect time in my life –– I’m about to turn 30 and I just got really motivated to live my life more focused, productive, happy and healthy. This podcast is just another way to continue that motivation! She’s so sweet, and I love listening to both her and her husband share their experiences and thoughts.
Now, this list doesn’t include the various episodes from other podcasts I listen to from time to time (shoutout to Getting Curious, TED Talks Daily, The Hunting Dog Podcast and Meat Eater.) But, I wanted to share the three that have pretty much been my go-to’s this past year.
What are some of your go-to podcasts?
