In the Collins household, we have a little thing in the corner we like to call the ‘Memory Jar’. We created this about 6 years ago and both love it! Here’s how it works:
- Throughout the year, notes are placed in the jar –– from January to December.
- These notes could contain events (good and bad), funny moments, etc.
- At the end of the year, take a night as a family to go through each note!

My tip to you is to keep the jar where you can see it everyday –– we took a couple years off from this because we had it hidden away where we couldn’t see it. We also placed some paper next to ours to make it easier to write a quick note!

It’s such a perfect way to come together to reflect on the past year –– Brian actually proposed to me the night we went through the first year’s Memory Jar!
We look forward to looking through the memory jar each year we do it, and can’t wait to put more memories in our 2019 jar!
I love the idea! What do you do with the papers after you go through them?

You know, I haven’t figured out what I want to do with them yet! I’ve kept them all — hoping that something will come to me 🙂
