It’s been a minute!

Hello all! It’s been such a long time since my last post but, to be fair, a lot has happened in the world and a lot has happened in our family!

First and foremost, I want to send out all the love to everyone dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic… because, well, that’s everyone right? It’s been fairly difficult for us – losing jobs, high-anxiety, etc. – but we have overall been really lucky with our health as a family. All of us have stayed healthy and are hoping to keep it that way. The pandemic has hit everyone differently, and I’m sending my love to those that need it. I’m longing for the day when I can go out on a date with my husband, hug my family & friends without having a panic attack, and see everyone’s beautiful smile. In the meantime, I guess we’re stuck washing our masks and running away from people who stand too close…. ugh.

Even through the pandemic, we have a few things go our way. First off, we moved into our new house in May! Well, it’s not really a new house – it was built in 1913 and has still has some of its original charms, even after being remodeled. It’s a super cute space for us, and we’re already starting in on projects! (We love our projects!) If I can force myself to remember, I’ll share some projects we have done and those we are planning on doing this year. Our latest project was insulating the garage. “Our” isn’t really correct – it was really just my husband and his dad who completed it… and they did a phenomenal job! Even more incredible, they did it over the course of four days when the temperature did not get above -5. Windchill during those work days was below -34! They toughed it out, and we ended up with a fully insulated garage!

Another big plus for us was the addition of our new puppy, Klaus! I will do another post dedicated to him entirely but for now, check out this cutie!

We got him from a breeder towards the beginning of May as well. We literally moved into our house on Friday and Saturday, and picked him up on Sunday! HAHA! Klaus is a German Wirehaired Pointer and, yes you guessed it, is going to hunt with us! This last fall, we were able to take him with, and he did great – he learned so much and ended up retrieving a few birds for us! We have to work on him pointing more before this year’s season, but he is already turning out to be a great bird dog.

Another great thing that happened was my decision to go back to school to get my teaching license and masters! I am so excited so start this new journey, and feel like this is what I was meant to do. For those of you who know me, I’ve been a coach for a decade now. Teaching athletes one-on-one has always been a passion of mine. It doesn’t matter what I’m teaching – I just love working with kids. Currently, I am taking four core classes that I need for my program: three English classes and one Mass Communications class (Yikes!). Then, my actual teaching program will start in the fall. So, my journey to becoming a secondary English teacher has begun! Where are all my teachers at?!

I’ve been wanting to jump on here and give some updates, and I finally sat down today and did it! I’m glad I did. Hopefully I can start making this more of a routine… because I miss you guys! Wishing you all good health and warm memories with those you hold dear.

Talk soon!
